Project Details

The Christie at Macclesfield Hospital project aims to enhance the hospital’s infrastructure, focusing on energy efficiency and patient comfort. Euroview Architectural Glass processed and supplied glass that meets these requirements through advanced solar control and thermal insulation properties.

Glass Solutions

  1. Saint-Gobain Cool-Lite Xtreme 60/28

    • High Selectivity: This glass provides the highest selectivity in the Saint-Gobain range, balancing solar control with natural light transmission.
    • Energy Savings: By blocking 60% of solar heat and allowing 28% of light transmission, it reduces the cooling load and energy consumption.
    • Daylight Comfort: Ensures a comfortable and well-lit indoor environment, enhancing the overall patient and staff experience.
  2. Guardian Climaguard A1.0

    • Thermal Insulation: This soft-coat Low-E glass offers the highest level of thermal insulation available for standard double glazed units.
    • Energy Efficiency: By minimizing heat loss, it helps maintain a consistent indoor temperature, reducing the need for artificial heating.
    • Comfort and Sustainability: Provides excellent thermal performance, contributing to a more sustainable and comfortable hospital environment.

  • Energy Efficiency: Both types of glass contribute significantly to reducing the hospital’s energy consumption, providing savings on heating and cooling costs.
  • Enhanced Comfort: The advanced glazing solutions ensure optimal light and temperature control, creating a pleasant environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Aesthetic and Functional Upgrade: The high-performance glass not only improves the building’s aesthetics but also enhances its functional capabilities, aligning with the hospital’s standards of care and sustainability.

The Christie at Macclesfield Hospital project demonstrates the effective use of high-performance glazing solutions to achieve energy efficiency and comfort in healthcare facilities. Euroview Architectural Glass, in collaboration with Quality Glass Ltd, successfully processed and supplied Saint-Gobain Cool-Lite Xtreme 60/28 and Guardian Climaguard A1.0 glass, meeting the project’s demanding specifications. We look forward to the positive impact this development will have on enhancing the hospital’s infrastructure and the well-being of its occupants.
