- Offices
- A 240-seat lecture theatre
- A bespoke café
- A glazed undercroft providing a multi-functional learning and social area for students
Solution Provided:
We supplied Drayton Windows with Guardian ClimaGuard A1.0 for this ambitious project. Guardian ClimaGuard A1.0 is an advanced thermal insulating glass designed for double and triple glazed insulating units. It was the perfect choice for this project due to its exceptional properties:
- Transparency: The glass provides high levels of transparency, ensuring an abundance of natural light in the learning and social areas.
- Solar Heat Gain: This new Low-E glass maintains superior thermal performance while allowing increased levels of solar heat gain, optimizing energy efficiency and comfort within the building.
Implementation:
Drayton Windows expertly installed the Guardian ClimaGuard A1.0 glass throughout the new Sixth Form block. The implementation included large glazed areas in the classrooms, offices, lecture theatre, café, and the multi-functional glazed undercroft. This installation not only met the project’s aesthetic requirements but also ensured that the building’s energy efficiency and comfort were maximized.

The use of Guardian ClimaGuard A1.0 resulted in a state-of-the-art Sixth Form block at Southfields School that offers a modern, comfortable, and energy-efficient environment for both students and staff. Key benefits include:
