Project Details

The Coombe Wood Secondary School project required advanced glazing solutions to enhance energy efficiency and create optimal learning and community spaces. Euroview Architectural Glass processed and supplied two types of glass for this project: Planitherm One T and Cool-lite SKN 176. These glasses were selected for their thermal insulation and solar control properties, respectively.

Glass Solutions

  1. Planitherm One T

    • Thermal Insulation: Planitherm One T provides advanced thermal insulation performance within the SGG PLANITHERM family of low-E glasses.
    • Energy Efficiency: Helps in reducing heat loss, maintaining comfortable indoor temperatures, and lowering heating costs.
  2. Cool-lite SKN 176

    • Solar Control: Cool-lite SKN 176 is a solar control coating that offers high light transmittance, a low g-value, and excellent neutrality.
    • Daylight and Comfort: Maximizes natural light while managing solar heat gain, ensuring a comfortable indoor environment conducive to learning.

  1. Energy Efficiency: The combination of Planitherm One T and Cool-lite SKN 176 contributes to significant energy savings by reducing both heating and cooling requirements.

  2. Optimal Learning Environment: High light transmittance from Cool-lite SKN 176 enhances natural daylighting, creating bright and inviting spaces for students and staff.

  3. Community Sports Facilities: The project includes enhanced community sports facilities, further contributing to the school’s role within the local community.
